1992 F350 I got third hand. I had to change the drivers side headlight lens
and all was well. Got to the bulb on the right (passenger side) to check it and it wasn't in all the way, not locked in with the collar. This bulb is the same as the drivers side but it will not seat all the way in. Is there supposed to be two different sized bulbs for this truck? Both bulbs are dual element single lens lights all factory stuff.
I think this one made it out of the factory just the way it is. The bulb was a factory original. Took the dremel tool and opened the hole up some and it fits like the other does. Hard to believe the headlight made it 16 years before I had to fix it!
I swapped both of mine about a few weeks ago with silvania silverstars. It is like night and day. The old ones had that sort of yellowish tint to them. The silverstars are bright white. There is one more level about these though, silvania super silverstars I think. I paid about $30 for the pair at autozone. The supers were about $50ish.
Thanks for the info. Usually, the yellow tint means either a bad ground or dust on the inside of the lens. Mine seem to be fine now but when I replace them, I will be going with the high intensity bulbs. With gas as it is now, I am riding the bike ('82 Goldwing) daily and only use the 1-ton when I have to. The truck gets 10 MPG whereas the bike gets 40. Happy trails.
I know the feeling. My 302 is my daily driver. I have it up to 15.5 mpg right now. I just did a tune up today with new plugs, wires, cap and a rotor so we'll see what that does.
These rigs may not be the best fuel sippers on the road but when you need a pick-up, a compact won't do.
By the way, welcome to the forum. We have a great group of people here and we even like to have fun once in a while. I hope to see your post meter climb.
I will be the first to admit that I do not know everything (at least not since I was 13) but I try to offer any help I can. I have helped many people and many people have helped me. I hope your experience is the same. Welcome.
I don't know alot about fords. My mom's side of the family is all chevy. My dad's side is all ford. I'm stuck in the middle with dodge. I know the 80s dodge trucks pretty well inside and out. When my dad passed away last year I inherited his 96 F150 so I'm learning all I can about it. Thanks for the warm welcome. Sorry if I hijacked this thread.

Don't feel so bad. I have been a Mopar man all of my life. Nothing can beat the 225 slant six for pure stubbornness. It just doesn't know when to lay down and die. I still use my Mopar knowledge to help here. Some things never change.

All are welcome and threads get sidetracked. It's the nature of the beast. Sometimes you have to post just to say you do not know. It can help bump the thread to the top so the ones that do know will see it.
So I'm not the only mopar nut here then. I prefer the 360 magnum and LA318 myself.
Not too sure on the trany but my '99 Durango has the 360. One tough truck. Just wish it didn't suck fuel like a fish. Oh well, if you want pulling and hauling power, you have to pay for it.

silverstars are the best value for the money.
they are in every vehicle i have owned since they came out.
RE the Mopars.. Picking up a perfect bodied, fresh outta the body shop and up to prime 74 Gold Duster this week, with 440 Interceptor from a 72 Fury, as well as the original, but gone through 318 on a stand.. This is gonna be fun....
Put the Silverstar Ultras in my 93.. what a difference a bulb can make....used to use nothing but PIAAs, but these SS Ultras are pretty sweet, and only 33 bucks and change on Amazon.
