Here are a couple of things I did when installing my ISSPRO Boost, Exhaust Pyro and Trans Temp gauges.
First thing was to premount them in the pod to bench test before install in truck. I wired the lighting and control boxes to a spare battery and checked that all lamps worked and the guages worked. See pic.
As for mounting the control boxes for the Pyro and Trans I used a scrap piece of 2 inch by 2 inch aluminum angle mounted on the cross member behind fuse box access panel. There was already a hole and one bolt with ny-lock nut was all that was needed. See pic.

Robin, now that I know your age. Did you by any chance go to Sunnyvale HS?

Yes I did Mark. All four years. Class of '65. I lived in Sunnyvale from 1958 until I retired in 2001. Don't tell me you went there as well. There were a lot of street racers at Sunnyvale High but I was not part of that group.

Yeah, class of '61, did not graduate. Almost did, but the Marine Corps sounded like a lot more fun than school so I just didn't finish. Don't think it's made a whole lot of difference in my life. My folk's bought a house in Lakewood Village, brandnew in 1956, for $12,500, last I heard those cracker boxes were going for hundreds of thousands. Thank God I got the Hell out of there.

Well what a coincidence. We lived in Lakewood Village (Fairwood side, east of Lawrence) from '58 to '60 and then moved to Gavello Glen off Wolfe Road near El Camino.

Ha, this is really the stuff for PM's but I am going to go ahead here anyway. I lived at 1244 Socorro, when we moved in it was cow pasture just one street away towards the foothill's. Remember Lawrence Station RD? I met old man Lawrence when I was a kid picking Teasels out near Alviso. He lived in a little 12 foot long travel trailer on the last piece of property he still owned. My only real memory of him is the tobacco juice constantly running out of the side of his mouth.

Mark,
I lived one block over on Torrance between Lakewood Ave and Havenwood.
Sure I remmeber Lawrence Rd. You couldn't get in or out of Lakewood without using it. Do you remember Jerry's Motor Mart? It was like a convenience store on wheels that cruised the neighborhood. This might be off topic but what the hell, I started the thread. I can hijack my own thread can't I. My dad went to work for Lockheed. That's why we moved to Sunnyvale from the L.A. area.
That's kind of ironic, Lockheed. That was the beginning of the end for what was Paradise when I was a kid. It was orchards and pasture land in every direction. If you went there in '58 you remember what it was like. Moffit Fields fighter aircraft shattering windows. Oh well, you can't ever go back, can you?

It was a beautiful area until they started tearing out the orchards and putting in houses and high tech businesses. I used to pick cherries and prunes and cut cots for extra money. I only stayed there to make a living. Three days after retiring I was living here in Payson, AZ. Time stops for no man.

Damn man, you're making me homesick. I used to cut school to pick cherries, in the summer I used to cut apricots for dried apricots. If folks knew how dried apricots were made they'd never eat them. But I love 'em, they gotta be California though. Those Mediterranean ones are garbage.

Now I remember where Torrance is, one street behind my house, and Sandia was the next steet the other way, after that it was cow pasture and pear ochards that the gov used to pay the growers not to pick. Stunk the area up real good by Oct. every year. We used to go out there and have pear fights. I guess this is enough of this, the rest of the fine members here could not care less about our lost youth. I am only surprised we did not know each other is because you're 4 years younger than me. I just may have delivered the Mercury to your parents house though.
