We are going to Denver next weekend and I am just wondering what I should do/check on the truck to make sure it is ready for this over 2K mile trip. Plan on changing the oil and cleaning the air filter this weekend. What else should I do?????
We took ours to Kansas City a few months ago with no issues except for not being able to get into the parking garage of the hotel. The valets loved the truck though.
Be safe and have a good trip. What are you going to Denver for?
How old is your fuel filter? Take a close look at your tires (including spare), check your tranny fluid, and all the simple stuff like that.
You might consider throwing a spare CPS and a few tools in the truck, and of course bring along your internet connection so you can tell us how your trip is going.

We are going up for my step sons HS graduation. Plan on leaving next Thursday when my oldest get out of school and trying to power through all the way to denver, just under 1K miles. Hopefully I can make it in about 12 hours if all goes well.
Not sure how many miles are on the brakes, we have put almost 25K miles on the truck since we bought it a year ago. I will look at the pads tomorrow.
Just did the tranny fluid about a month ago. So that is all good!
Not sure what CPS we have. It is going in for the recall and oil leaks next week. I will ask to get the CPS back so I can put it in the glove box. What tools do I need to keep in the truck for this?
I was just under the hood last night doing the foil delete and from what I could see all the hoses looked good to me.
For the CPS a 10 mm deep socket 1/4" drive is easiest. Those are easy little item to change. If you're going to the stealership use your feminine charm to ask if you can watch the tech change yours. Make sure you walk out with your old one.
Looks like I will be able to get on and post from my phone, let's hope my reception is as good in the middle of nowhere as it is right in my house. Phone seems to be okay, let's see how this post looks though.

Congrats on the supporter badge Cris!!! Looks good. One thing that you may want to do is go to Powerstroke Help Network and sign up to be a member of the Roadside Help Network. This will allow you access to all of the members along your route that will be there to help you out if needed.
