Running board brackets

Anyone know where I can get new brackets for my original steps (on the cheap)? I need three total - not sure how the PO broke them off.

I'm contemplating just taking them off if I can't find brackets for them, they make a nice thumping noise going over anything rough.

Did somebody run into the rail? Did some one steal your bracket? It looks like the front of the rail bends in and up close to the truck.

I don't know, I've only had the truck a week. The rails touch the body (underside pinch weld) on both sides - I take it they shouldn't?

No I have the same ones on my truck and they don't touch. have you checked the local junk yards? Another place to try would be auto body shops, they may have a few kickin around from repairs.

Junk yards are where I'm headed next week probably, if I can't find any I'll probably just keep using them until they break or make me crazy enough to take 'em off.

I would ask alot of questions about your delema, did you notice it on the lot? Did you notice at home, shopping. Is the bracket underneath booger up like it was ripped off. Do what everybody said to do, check with your ford dealer, junkyard ect.

Maybe the PO ran up on something, and "high centered" it. Is there any damage (creases) on the bottoms of the bars?

If there is no noticable damage, i would suspect theft. But no, they shouldn't touch any part of underneath. I,ve heard of people going looking at car dealerships, parking lots, looking for parts for thier mistakes or thieving autobody shops to fix somebody else,s vehicle. Just a thought.
