I actually just bought this kit. It is on and sounds very nice. No drone and the truck rumbles nicely but it is not obnoxious at all.

Hooker as in the exhaust company. Hoosier is the tire company, two totally different things.

Hooker makes some of the best mod motor headers out there, second only to Kooks. Hookers and Kooks on mustangs are the only 2 brands that make headers that allow you to change a clutch without having to loosen a header. If you've ever done headers on a 4v, you know how much of a pain that is...

i have hookers on my mustang, although with a borla stinger catback. if there's any hint of how loud it is; they say you need to remove the catback if you're gonna take off your lower control arms. My mufflers are so small, i can do the LCAs with the catback on... It'll pretty much wake the dead at wide open throttle... rolling around it's not too bad, and can get by cops coasting without problems

I definitely wouldn't do it on a daily driver again though... my truck feels like a bmw compared to my mustang

I had it on mine. No drone to speak of. Not really that loud. But with the supercharger it just wasn't flowing enough. In fact, I bought if from the ebay guy the OP stated. Good service and really fast shipping. I took it off and replaced it for this....wish I would have done this to begin with, sounds better and cost me about the same (about $40 more when said and done)

Hooker has been in business since the 50s. Used them all the time on my muscle cars, but couldnt keep them on. They kept blowing open. I have had Flowmaster on my last 4 trucks and never had any bad drone. I hear them getting up to speed but after that they tone out. Same guy has installed all of them. Maybe thats the solution. Right guy Right set up.

Talking

I havn't heard anyone speak of the Roush setup. I bought the Roush Off-Road SIDO system...and I LOVE it on my 04' FX4 4x4. It has just the loud tone I was looking for under hard acceleration, yet when you're just cruising, it just kinda mellows out, but yet you can still hear it. From in the cab, I get hardly any drone, if any at all....UNLESS I'm in the pedal hard, but thats when I WANT to hear it. I recommend the Roush system.

I also agree with Tylus. I have a street/strip Mustang 5.0 that I have the old Flowmaster American Thunder kit on (no cats)...and its VERY loud with ALOT of drone...but I wanted that car that way.....just not my truck. Ya know??

I also give kudos to Flowmaster for longesvity....that Flowmaster kit has been on my Mustang for over 10 years now (thats right guys!)...and its still not rusted out or anything.

It all comes down to how aggressive a tone you want, and what type of in-cab drone are you willing to put up with.

I got a 10 series on mine. Single chamber very compact. Welded in where the 200 mile old stock muffler was sitting. Added a 3" dump. Sounds goooood. Not as loud as I wanted though due to the crappy cats. But I love the drone/chirp/rattle that a flow makes at about 2K down the highway. JMHO.

BTW my 4.0 Ranger with headers, duals, h-pipe and 40 series is louder than ****. It hurts your ears standing beside it. Cats take ALOT of noise away. And alot of power.

I have a Mag on my '05. Nice sound on acceleration, but cant hear it at idle or or on the highway. Also have Flows on my '72 390, and EVERYBODY has said they can hear me leave for work in the mornings when I drive it. hard to hear the radio too... if you really want to have noise, just hang a 1' pipe behind these metal cans, deep enough to rattle your lower intestines. Fun to pull up next to a rice eater and drown out the crap music tho.

quit yer crying about drone ya Panzies!!!!

Bunch of whiners dont probably know what real drone is, anyways I like the one where the guy mentions it rattles everything in the cab, geesh sounds like ya need to break out some wrenches and screwdrivers and tighten it up. Everyone has Flowmasters-- hey I like that one, theres a reason for that too. I call it quality! Oh magnaflows are shiny "BFD" The damn can is UNDER your truck who cares for shiny underneath the truck for, never could understand that one, but to each there own. Anyways Magnaflows are alright but I like the Flowmaster Super 44 on the 5.4L it's the sound I was looking for and I dont have drone, on freeways 65-75 mph. no drone either, so dont know what the crying is about. I dont need to know either-- to each there own. Just sound like babies talking about drone "it's loud", Damn right it is ,loud saves lives.
