First, I am not able to get the truck to start unless I use starting fluid. I just replaced the glow plugs. I'm thinking it has some fuel problem. Where is the most common place to start with.
Second, When you are facing the truck, they is a pulley/pump on the lower left side of the eng. Their are hoses coming from the brake pump. What is it?
It's on the other side. Under alternator. It looks like the their needs to be a belt on it that goes to it from the alternator. I'm thinking it's the same thing. I was wondering does it use it for the brakes as well as fuel pressure?

It may be time to replace the injector caps and o-rings. That's the vacuum pump on the passenger side, under the alt. It powers your brakes, cruise and heater controls.
the little pump under the alternator is your vacuum pump. there should be a small belt from it to the alternator pulley. if it is not hooked up, you will not have any power brakes, cruise control, or heater?AC controls.
it has nothing to do with the fuel circuit.
be very careful with the either. it does not go well with our trucks.
especially if your glow plugs are working.
what type of glow plugs did you put in it??
anything other than MOTORCRAFT/BERU are not recommended, because they burn out very fast, and the tips have a tendency to swell, making it almost imposable to remove them from the head.
as for the fuel problem, look at the return lines on each injector. if there are any leaks, you will get air intrusion into the fuel system, and the fuel filter will drain back to the fuel tank overnight, causing a no start condition in the morning.
a bad enough leak will give you a no start condition after 3-4 hours of sitting.
