My truck is black with black sidewall tires and it has been mentioned to me that it would have a nicer looking line if I were to drop the rear end a couple of inches with some 2" shackles. While I am debating this I just wanted to ask you guys how this might affect the ride I get, or if it would have any adverse affect on the suspension or the transmission.
Thanks!

Maybe you should hang around with a different crowd??? ;-)
Yes, I understand, and no I do not need to hang out with a different crowd. I don't do any heavy hauling and it is just a consideration at this point. Being a 46-year-old-first-time-truck-owner, I am thinking of things that might enhance the look. Believe me, I do not plan on getting crazy with it.
I've been wanting to do the same thing lately, but both the front and the rear. Two inches for both. I like the forward rake also,it's just that it is SO high. I plan to do rear shackles, and lower drop A-arms in the front. More or less,it will be a 2"/2" drop. I don't see anything wrong with leveling the truck out,and as long as it's only two inches I don't think it will hurt anything at all. If you do bottom out or sense vibrations, change your rear shocks for some lowered style(can be found in any truck magazine) For vibrations, get some pinion angle shims to correct the differential to driveshaft angle. They mount in between the spring and axle, and also can be found in any mag. Good luck, and hope I've been of some help,,,,,98

I'm waiting til the wife buys her Miata(sometime in the next couple of years) By that time she won't care what I do to the truck, hehehe. Plus it's nearly paid off,and that is her usual excuse. It will get dropped,Oh yes,it will get dropped,lol,,,,,98
