I just bought a 1992 F150 XLT SuperCab with a 5.0 automatic with 173,000 miles for $2000.00. I put $600 in it for a new radiator, A/C fix, belts, etc....the body does not have one ding, interior is fantastic shape AND it was a one owner...so I am pumped.
Problem is that when I run the A/C and let off the gas to come to a stop the truck dies out....it seems to not be able to maintain a good idle...but it only does it with the A/C on...and if I have the A/C on and I turn the wheel it dies everytime. I am thinking its the Idle Air Control Valve...any thoughts?
I put the new IAC on yesterday and my idle problems stopped immediately. I am not "Mr. Fix It" but I do know a little about cars...it only took me 20 minutes to do the job...probably saved me at least 75 bucks of labor charges. Thanks for your input!
