as for hub seal he said use a piece of paper ...... <--- not sure about that one ...
ok ...... the bearings are fine ........ its the axle rattling inside the spindle ..... its a full floating axle .......the rubber ring that holds it from rattling is shot ...... can thase be bought seperately?

i am trying to picture what rubber ring you are talking about. all axle shafts have some play when installed!
check your brakes... your axleshaft should not heat up your lugs

-cutts-
brakes are fine already checked em ...... the ring is metal coverd in rubber by the looks of it ... its right where the axle shaft meets the back of the spindle .... it holds it from wobbling around
it is the rubber ring thing ..... it's just sitting around the axle shaft ..... it should be in the back of the spindle holding the shaft from freely wobbling/ rattling around, like the the drivers side is ..... I was wondering if thase can be bought separatly, or is it an all one piece thing?
there is a small caged needle bearing that is located right under that rubber disk inside the spindle ( I believe the rubber disk is a splash guard). Check to see if the axleshaft is damaged in the bearing area.
I think he's talking about the spindle bearings. I know inside my D44, once you pull the spindle off, there is a seal and behind the seal is a flat rubber/plastic disk that sort of keeps tension on the caged needle bearings. I've always just re-used them so I have no idea where to even get it.
I still have them for my solid D44. Look at this pick, and blow up the area around the spindle, you will see the seal and the caged needle bearings. I know it's for a 44, but the same principal.
