Mileage?

I just bought a `97 expy w/140k. I hated trading in my `89 -250 for it but I absolutly love it! My only question is what kind of mileage should I expect? It has the 5.4 (sweet, I finaly got one!) and I checked out the axle code and it has 3.55's so I thought it would get better than the 8-10mpg I was getting with my truck. I checked yesterday when I filled-up, I'm only getting 11! I thought for sure I should be getting at least 15. Now I haven't been hot-rodding it around or hauling/towing anything. Mostly interstate miles 65mph with cruise set. Anybody else out there with the same set up getting any better?

Opps, my bad! I just found all the other mileage topics. Guess I should read some of the other topics before I just post one. I'll try the plugs and wires route and clean out the throttle body.

Runn 55, then you'll get 15 .

I can get 20mpg in my 04 at 55mph, but on interstate at 75, it'll dive in a head wind to 17.

I get 13 in city driving and 20+ on trips. It seems to be very sensitive and will go from 12.3 to 13.5 in a 15 mile trip, depending on traffic lights and how heavy my foot is (very heavy most days). I need to do the plugs an O2 sensors soon.
