Replacement Auto Lock front hub
I have a 99 F350 4x4 7.3L PD with 200k, I just had done $3400 on the front end changing out the diff clutches for a 40-60 split, calipers, etc, but afterward found out the Front Hubs are worn out. I would like to stay with the auto lock hubs as I rarely use them except to drive up our hill the last 10 blocks and only in the winter if there is snow. So I don't want to manually lock and unlock, because I usually forget to unlock them again.
Are there auto lock hubs that are after market or is it only Ford? The existing hubs look really cheap and poorly made but even these I can't seem to find on the net. Or is there a way to put a kit in the hub? I had them out, cleaned and greased them and they appeared to have no wear, but with the new front end parts they now load going around a sharp right or left corner and thump badly. They lock in ok but as I said they are worn out. I have looked all through the net that I can think of but all I can find are manual hubs. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
