360 to 460 swap

I have a 1970 F100 2wd with a 360ci and a c6 and A 1975 F150 2wd SC with a 460 and a c6. will the 360/c6 unbolt from the frame and the 460/c6 rebolt in its tracks. If any one has done this please post. I think the 3 mounting **** on the FE blocks and the 385 blocks are the same and the rear tranny mount I think is in the same place? The 75 looks to have a little more hi tech engine mount setup

Yes it will. You will need to include the engine perches that mount to the frame.
While the frame rails are the same the mounts are different between the two engine families.

double check that you have 4 holes on the passenger side. i remember having to drill one because I put my engine in crooked because I didn't use the correct holes on the passenger side.

I just did this swap in a 76. This swap requires new motor mounts and towers. According to Ford racing, if you are building the motor, you ehter need to put turnbuckles on the motor to keep it from break the stock mounts, or use the L& L mounts. The C-6 moutned right up to the exiting mount from the NP. You may have to have the drive shaft trimmed depending on the tailshaft on the C-6.

You would be correct if the donor is newer than 79. If the donor 460 is from a 79 or older that information is incorrect.

He didn't hint that he was building a fire breathing engine so the Ford Racing info doesn't hold much water either. IMHO

My donor came out of a 69 passenger car. It was correct. As far as the mounts, I just passed along what I was told. FOr the price, I think it was worth it to go with the L & L mounts. Just my .02

No my friend you are mixing apples and oranges. Car perches are different from truck. The original poster wants to use perches from a 75 truck in his 70 truck. The frame rails are the same on both trucks, they will fit.
