Marvel Mystery Oil is the way to go. Put enough in each hole to cover the piston. Remember they are in there at an angle (I think you said it was a V8)
Let it sit for a couple of days and then start wiggling back and forth with a breaker bar. It should break loose. And like someone else said remove distributer and prime the oiling system.
Good luck.

Just so you have something to think about. Which will get down in and around the rings the best. oils like Marvel Mystery Oil or Deisel or stuff like PB blaster..Right out of the olden days. Well it's diesel & Kerosene mixed work wonders for getting in to tight places and freeing them up.. My 2 cents

Okay. I went to Wally-world tonight and bought a gallon of Marvel's Mystery Oil and, using a funnel with a flexible tube, slowly poured it into each spark plug hole until it overflowed. I stuck the spark plugs back in finger tight and now i wait.

I think I need a little more clarification on the procedure to prime the oil pump. You pull the distributor out and then what?

With the distributer removed you will need a 5/16" or 1/4" socket to turn the oil pump shaft. A 6-8" extension so you can use a cordless drill to spin the shaft ccw. You will know when every things gets circulated by the load on the drill. Make sure you mark which direction the rotor is pointing, you will need this to reinstall the distributer for correct timing.

If you use a socket and an extension make sure you tape the socket to the extension real well. You don't want to have to pull the pan to fish out a socket.

I used PB blaster on my stuck motor, Let it sit for a couple of days after filling each cylinder. Drained the oil and put in new. Hit the starter and it turned right over. Good luck hope the mmo workes.

i have also saw people use the grease gun trick with good results . (older tractors also ) he used compressed air to remove most of the grease out of the cylinder before starting . (just spraying the air into the cylinder and leaving enough room for the grease to come out the same plug hole ) then used alittle pentatrating oil to wash the cylinder , then air again until the cylinder was clear . still smoked like hell but it cleared up after a while . but he really didnt have anything to lose either !

Why not just fill the cyl with any oil type of liquid since it solid the same as grease and won't compress then top it off with the grease. Then you can maybe blow it all out the air or when you turn in motor over..my 2 cents

the grease works well because it is extremely viscous. An oil may just seep past the ring gaps as you apply pressure.

If the grease works to break the motor free, just leave the spark plug out and cycle the motor to push out most of the grease. Then rotate until the piston is down far in the bore and put some gas or kerosene in there to thin out the grease. Cycle it again or blow that out with compressed air and whatever is left will burn out, assuming the engine starts!

They can be stubborn. Get yourself a pry bar about four feet long with a flat end that will engage the teeth on the flywheel. Pull the dust cover down below and find a place to turn the flywheel with the pry bar. Work the engine in both directions. Once you get it to budge just a fraction of an inch your in.
I have used this method on three different engines and with that amount of leverage it will start to move. You may have to modify the end of your prybar by grinding to a shape that will fit between your flywheel and the bellhousing, but it works.

I'd use liquid wrench or PB Blaster first and then diesel or kerosene. They'll all penetrate which is what you want. The diesel and kerosene are more oily than gas but less than oil. I don't see how in the hell grease would work. It just sits there. It won't penetrate into anything.

Read the original post about the grease nothin was said about penetrating. The grease is a last resort befor pulling the thing apart. It does not penetrate and in this case you don't want it to penetrate. The idea is to pump in enough grease to take up the space in the cylinder so there is no air to compress once this happens you can use the pressure from the grease gun to force in more grease. Since the grease does not compress pressure builds and the piston has no where to go but down. It does work and works very well, But like I stated when I first posted it up is AFTER you try the penetrateing oils and IF they do not work try this.
