Or, if you know the procedure for flashing out the codes, you can pull the test connection (ground wire) while the codes are being flashed out. This will clear the codes without clearing the computer's learned fuel strategies. (Not that they take much driving for it to relearn). Note that sometimes, if you make a bunch of sensor replacements, you have to clear the computer's learned strategies by pulling the battery cable anyway. Some people also say to turn on your headlights (with the battery cable removed) to make sure you drain any capacitors in the electrical system, too.
