Need some advice about installing cam

I've never put a cam in before. Just need some advice. Or is it one of those things that the machine shop should do. I haven't picked the block up yet as the machine shop isn't done with it yet.

FWIU and have seen done, use lot's of lube be gentle, don't force it and be careful not to knick the bearings. I could use more innuendos, but I think you get it lol.

Nothing a novice cant do with patience. White grease on the journals, engine assembly on the lobes. Really careful and with the block upside down you have access to help it stay ding free on the way. It's sharp!! Once in give it a twirl, if it binds at any point call the machinist (either his bearing installation is poor - unlikely as they usually check it, or your cam in bent - less likely but not impossible)

Well if you have installed one before you can get by with just some long bolts mounted in the cam gear holes...If not a cam install tool for leverage is a great help....While I have never used white grease on the cam bearings....I do use a liberal amount of Break in lube on the journals..

The grey moly paste is best from the cam lobes. Just about anything is better than air for the cam bearings and journals.
