Good morning everyone: I joined yesterday and have found some very good information already. I also have two questions which I would like to ask.
I have a 1994 F350 with a 460 motor. I blew a head gasket and everyone I have spoken with said it would be as easy or better to just buy another motor and drop it in rather than fix current motor ( current motor has 210,000 miles). My question is, do you think this is true?
The second question is, I have found a 1989 motor, will this motor drop into a 1994 model?

Welcome!

Without knowing the condition of your 460 it's a bit tough to say for sure but that is a lot of miles and it probably has worn components inside. I agree that you would be better off replacing it with a rebuilt or one with lower miles. You can ask about it here: Big Block V8 - 385 Series (6.1/370, 7.0/429, 7.5/460) - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums We also have an engine swap forum but that link I gave you should be the ticket.
