i recently bought a 1987 f 150. its a 4.9l fuel injected 300ci. up till a couple of days ago it won't start. it turns over but doesn't catch. i checked the throttle body, clutch kill that i read about on here. can't smell gas in the exhaust orn engine. checking fuel pressure tomorrow. any ideas would be greatly appreciated. thanks

 

Check the fuel pressure and also check to make sure you are getting spark to the plugs

 

Even before you start the engine when the key is first turned to the run position the fuel pump should cycle for a second or 2, if it doesn't then that's the first thing to check.

 

may have found problem no fuel coming out of fuel pressure guage going to check fuel filter will keep ya'll updated

 

pump not working is a better bet.

takes a lot for the fuel filter to block fuel completely.

check fuel shutoff switch.

check relay and fuel pump fuse.
