I have a 6al with a billet dizzy. I don't what power it added because it was on the truck when I got it. I have had some problems with it at times. So I bought a spare box and keep it in the truck. when the box goes out you are stuck untill you get the box fixed witch takes a couple of weeks.
I have run an MSD 6A (no rev limiter) with a stock distributor stuffed with duraspark guts (magnetic coil, reluctor wheel etc.) basically using the MSD box to replace the duraspark module on the firewall. It works great, super reliable, and the idle quality was a little better, and I am glad that I did it. However, I think you will find that the MSD box alone will not add much performance otherwise.
yep, need the coil. MSD blaster 2 will work well with your setup. You might see a performance bump with the dizzy, depending on how the advance curve was setup in your stocker.
Not in my truck, but I'm running a MSD Billet ready to run Distributor and 6AL with MSD coil in my FE 465 stroker in my Galaxie. I had just the distributor before the box on my earlier 390, that's why I have the ready to run dis. With the box, you get multiple spark, you can open your gap. No more fouled plugs! I like it!
