im installing new headers on my truck this weekend. just wanted to see if anyone has any thoughts on how hard of a job it will be. single cab250, 460, 28 inch lift
pretty easy. especially if it is lifted that high. hardest thing you have to do is weld collectors to pipes.get the drop in gaskets. start front and back bolts then drop in exhaust gasket. when you put the collectors together put 2 metal gaskets per side and use locking nuts to fasten will keep from leaking. have fun....
ps.......... dont forget to retighten header bolts every 100 - 200 hundered miles for the first 500 to insure they stay tight.
Where do you get headers for a 96 f250 460.. i've seen very few but they also ask something about Egr or smog pump stuff.. do you get the set without any of that? what do you get for that. does it have a smog pump you can take off?
i would try summittracing.com thats were i got mine. i am going to remove the smog pump and everything assoc. with it. im just going to run straight pipe to glasspacks and dump it behind the cab.
