I went into the tire shop to get my tires rebalanced and rotated. I have the goodyear silent armour pro grade 8 plys. They come stock with 17/32nds of tread and I have 12/32nds on mine still with just under 60,000 km's on them.
Not bad at all I should be able to do well over 100k with them, and I think they are warrantied till 85ish!
Yeah I always knew they were decent from working on them all the time and whatnot, but they are impressing me. The only thing i would like is the more aggresive look. That and a few times I could have used the agressive tread. The tread pattern is good but with really mucky crap they dont do as well as the old mt/r's did!
It seems to be a balancing act between tire life and thread aggressiveness for the most part. my Michelins lasted a long time but they were not a good traction tire. I do have the 4x4 mode to address this. Good mileage on the Goodyears!!
What model of mich's did you have again Warren? These tires are good all around traction, but i know damn well my mt/r's would have walked all over these in some instances, but come not even close in others.
