The '79 used the same lower moulding back to '73, if not racetracked. The best pictures I've seen of it are in Dennis Carpenter's catalog. Most of the other catalogs also show it, but in illustrations. There are also smooth stainless rocker panel kits available for these trucks at much less cost - just depends on what look best to you. I like the factory look, but will have to wait until I win the lottery or something, lol.

I looked at Dennis Carpenter and they have a price for the 69-72 at 350.00 and the 79 at 550.00. If thay are the same, why the price difference? I want the factory look too. It's not the race track molding, just the lower rocker molding.

Reason: update
If you are talking the XLT style lower rocker trim I think they are different. The 69-72 has chrome with a couple horizontal black stripes - 73-79 (like mine) has plain chrome or satin with no black stripes. You can look in my gallery to see what I mean. I will try to post a pic. Hard to tell but here you go:
As a point of interest, Dennis Carpenter purchased the original Ford tooling for those pieces and the quality I would suspect would be far superior to anything LMC has to offer. I have never had good luck with LMC.
I think in all cases, the 67-72 trim will not fit the 73-79 trucks. If you are talking about the beltline trim, The bumpside comes to a point in the front, and the dentside has a surround for the front indicator light. As for the rocker trim, they are much different also. I think the wheelbases are also a couple inches different, and I would think they would never line up.
As for a good place to get them... Keep your eyes open on craigslist and your local junkyard, and if you are in a bind, ebay. Craigslist frequently has "parting out" listings. You will probably never get the intire set from a single truck, but with a little patience, you will find all the pieces in no time. I have built an intire set of the beltline trim with the clips and a few spares for under $35 and a few hours of searching!
LMC has them for $130 for F-Series (73-79) and $120 for the Bronco (78-79).
Those were the "other" ones I was referencing, only LMC's are way more expensive than the ones I can get at my favorite local brick-n-mortar and they come from the same vendor. (not to mention a lot less freight charge)
