sorry that this doesnt answer your question, but I have one for you. Did your truck come stock with a 4bbl carb? I have a 1991 Crown Victoria with a 351w and a crappy 2bbl variable venturi carb that i want to switch to 4bbl, but want to do it for cheap.. I was wonderign if i could find old 4bbl truck intakes and carbs at a salvage lot??

thanks.

I am not sure this will help either of you but heregos

The 1985,1986,and 1987 Ford 351W engines came with a highoutput package which consisted of
-Holley 4-barrel 4160 carb
-less restrictive muffler
-17-inch air cleaner
and someother equipment

Keep in mind that the hp and torque is with a jetterd down-emmision carb, EGR system, Smog Pump, Cat, Big-Quiet Muffler, retarded ignition, low compresion, and all the other junk that the goverment required but that doesn't help anything (even the environment).

do you happen to know what intake manifold was used on this truck? i see this swap going onto my car very shortly, if I can find one in a salvage yard.. my variable venturi carb is so out of tune my car wont even run.

First look into your local auto swapper for a used aftermarket 4bbl intake for a small block ford ($50 max). They are only about $100 new and give a noticeable difference in performance over stock(i.e. Edelbrock performer). Then call Summit or some other catalog and tell them you want a new 500cfm carb (holley or other). They'll ask you what it's for and just about tune it in for you. $200 bucks max for a small holley. Did it on my '77 f150 302. Only wish I would have used a smaller carb (i had a new 600 laying around). You won't regret going aftermarket in this situation.(my opinion) Good Luck!

Remember that the 351 has a different intake than a 302, the 351 is wider so you must specify that you have a 351W. Also I would recomend a 600 cfm, or higher if you use a cam and lower gears. I have a '84 Ranger with a 289 that now has a 750 double pumper, people say it is to big but I am getting better milage and much more performance than the 600 Edelbrock I had.

stock 351 H.O.=
Iron intake with square carb flange.
