A/C climate controller

Hey guys I just came up with the idea that I would like to put the digital climate control module in my truck in place of the three *****. Does anyone know if it will plug right in. I have a good bit of electrical knowledge so some minor wiring modifications will not be a challenge. Has anyone done this or want to do this. You can get the digital cluster off of ebay for fairly cheap and I have always thought it would be a nice upgrade. Let me know...Thanks guy.

Never thought about it. If you decide to do this be sure and take pics along the way so the rest of us can see how to do it.

Wiring and vacuum are harnesses are very different. You would need a pigtail for each to splice in. The vacuum lines wouldn't be that much of a problem. The wiring part could be a nightmare. I don't know if there enough wiring in the non ATC harness to make all the connectons. You would need to have the wiring diagrams first. Not too much of a "plug 'n play" type of thing. I recently changed out a defective ATC on my friend's F150 King Ranch and noticed the differences while troubleshooting the vacuum problem. The vacuum solenoids are prone to have problems. Parts are not available for repair. Serviced as a unit.

They both use different kinds of blend door actuators...one is manual the other is automatic. The head unit has much different wiring and vacuum harnesses...
Here are some differences I've noticed:
-The EATC (Electronic Automatic Temperature Control) also has provisions for recirculate in panel, panel floor, floor, floor defrost, and defrost, and hot water shut off as well.
-Manual controls has recirculate in MAX A/C only and hot water shutoff, but only if you add it yourself
-Manual controls the air inlet door via a comon white vacuum line which you can tee off of for the hot water shut off, whereas EATC uses the two seperate lines for the same purpose.
-EATC uses a flat vacuum harness connector whereas manual uses a square diamon looking one
-Also with the yellow port pnl/floor and flr/dfrst have vacuum with manual A/C, and don't with EATC
-

You will also need besides harnesses, an aspirator for cabin temp readings, and I believe a sun load sensor which changes operation in auto mode....

In short... It can be done, however, it isn't cost effective nor is it a plug and play swap. I still would like to, just dont' have that kind of time...
