Where do the tail light wires go when they leave the light housing?
Do they go into the stake pockets, or just under the truck?
Mine just hang out in the breeze, but that doesn't look right. The new lights (blue dots!) I bought have a woven sheath over the wires.
I ordered some correct brackets; I'm tired of one brake light or the other not working, so it's out with the old ...
FYI, I searched for "tail light wire" and variations thereof, and go no hits.
Anyone's gallery have pics of the tail light area?
Year and Model?....What?? ..no Pic's in gallery?
I've got a 55, same concern..dont know where they go, but planned on finding some chrome tubing..3/8 to 1/2" and bending it , straight down from the lamp assy, then a
90 deg. bend into the lower extension, maybe drill a hole and put a suitable rubber grommet to keep things neat. Get some Pic's up! Good Luck!
Oh, Jeez, Sorry.
There used to be a pic or two of my truck in the common gallery - back when this was just a mailing list, not a forum.
1951 F1R1 3-on-the-tree
Merc flathead, installed 1963.
Mostly original, still 6V
Used as an occasional truck, currently full of mulch.
Various places sell stainless steel flexible looms for the taillight wires which may suit your tastes.
hi guys Just from looking at other pics and as well on my 50 the wires just hang down. and tuck up under the box and frame rails. On drivers side the licence plate hides most of it. Hope this helps a little.

I don't have a pic of mine, but I used black heat shrink tubing on wires and routed them along the bracket thru a small clip then under the bed. They are very inconspicuous.
I kept the rubbery cover that came on the wiring with my taillights but drilled a hole to snake them through, painting the bare metal and inserting a rubber grommet. I think it looks nicer than just running under the panel.
