I've got an 08 sd 250 with twin turbos, When I bought it last July I was told by my local truck shop that any re-programing would void the warranty and at that time they werent touching them. Has anybody had any luck with an 08 program yet and if so which one. I would really like to boost the MPG a little, 14.1 in town barely 15 on highway
Your local truck shop is correct. Any mod's, especially tuning, will void your warranty. But why would they care? It's your problem not theirs. They just didn't have anything for you yet.
Some tuners are getting their scat together. I suggest you slide down to the 6.4L forum and look around there for more info. If you are willing to void your warranty there are some really amazing things you can do.
Any tuner installed at any time automatically voids warranty? I thought if a problem exists that falls under the warranty guidlines but they can determine that the problem was caused or contributed to by a third party device, then the warranty can be voided.
Ford Motor Co is notified by the dealer, the VIN is stricken and forever blacklisted. Is the whole shish-cobbob voided or just the issue at handed?
I am under the impression with a new 08 superduty, the owner gets a video and a clearly spelled out disclamer in the owners manual, which basically states any modification at all and the entire warranty is over period.
I got the video and it spelled out nothing. I would assume that if ford cannot prove it was the programer that caused the problem then it is under warranty. Here in Alvin the Ford dealer is selling the programer for it.
I am pretty sure you would have to prove it did not cause the problem. Before you jump on the MM thing that is for OEM replacement parts so if the programmer works exactly like the stock chip you are OK but why would you bother then
Do what you want but take responsibility for what you do.

Excellent answer and 100% correct. You have to "prove" that it did not cause the issue, where as Ford would only have to show "just cause"...
