Someone asked me to determine MPG differences with stage II's.
Well, I traveled 162 miles home with stock sticks and got 18.6 MPG. I believe she new she was getting an upgrade so she showed her best side. LOL.
After the install of 180 cc stage II's and working out all the kinks and missses I saw 17.1 MPG on the same trip in reverse. (Well not exactly in reverse I was traveling forward in forward gears)
That was a trip traveled at 70 MPH most of the way and ALL interstate miles. Of course if I romped on it to get around cars etc. that # would change drastically I am sure. I really tried to get the best MPG on both trips so it may not be representative of MY typical driving, but I just wanted the tests to be as accurate as possible and comparable.
I have a TW chip and did both trips on the same setting. I have 2 HP settings and I did it on the lower of the two. This may vary dependent on settings of course, like Economy/Stock/tow etc.
I have a 5 speed with 4.10 gears, 4"exhaust and AFE intake.
Yes Robb it was VERY hard not to do it. It made it easier because the wife followed me the whole way and I know what happens if you smoke the wife out... you get smoked out to the dog house.
That was the best example I could think of at the last minute. I did have a strong tailwind on the way back but the elevation is a bit higher on the way back also so I think it is very representative. At least as good as I can do. Now it is time to drive it like it was meant to be driven, smoke and all. MPG... what's that??????????
It was me Neal!
I know you were more intrested in the power gains.
That is why i asked for you to look into the mpg thing.
Average so far is only 1 to 1.5 if you can keep your foot out of it.
Hard to get some accurate #'s
Will be glad to give you a Worst case scenario. I live about 3.5 miles from work. That can't get too much worse than that. The temp gauge doesn't even move by the time I get to work.
