Yep, this site is definately the premier site for all things Ford truck related. The HAMB is great for entertainment although there are some very knowledgable people over there as well, it just takes patience to get to them, thick skin helps too.
I agree with you about this site, I have not been on here that much but when I have a question to ask or an idea to run past guys I have always had good luck with you all. Thank you! That being said I also belong to a chevy site www67-72chevytrucks.com and here is their 47-59 chevy page The 1947 - 1959 Chevrolet & GMC Pickups Message Board - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network if you want to check it out. I have been a member for a few years now and like the site alot of nice family type people to throw ideas around with. They are also some of the smartest guys I have meet, they sent me here for my ford addition.
yep this place is my number one hangout , just gotta watch what im saying and mind my sense of "humor " as it can get a little blue . as far as the hamb i got the boot for getting into a discussion on why they hated the unfinished rods from another forum i frequent when most of their cars aint any better and p.o.d a couple others for the way they chastised people who were asking legitimate questions trying to learn . bunch of ............... well i wont go there . this place is the BEST period for anything ford related and there are no uptight a--munches here !!!!!!!!
my brother in law is a ch**y guy, but he's also the lead mechanic on my 49 f-1. he bought a 49 ch**y, since i'm the lead computer searcher, i check stovebolt for him. they don't seem to have much participation, and no spirit like fte. i've gotten great help on the basics from this site. when i motor to my first car show with my "survivor" i'll have my fte bumpersticker on the truck and fte t-shirt on me. dick r
It was if they were implying that I should know better than to ask such a simple question. If that is the feeling, they can rest assured I won't be bothering them again.
I like the simple questions, 'cause they're the only ones I can answer....
I two have joined a couple other forums and have found that FTE, even the guys in the Superduty group, are great people and are willing to help in any way possible. Even had a fella in the Alberta Chapter help me locate a nearly new looking licence plate for my truck. I sent him the cash, he drove the 45 minutes each way, burned up some of his own time at the swap meet and shipped me the plate. Subsequently he was run off the site because of some conflict with a couple of the moderators......that would be the only down fall of this site.

As good as it is, unfortunately the nature of the system paves the way for dsigusting little intraverted power freaks to flex their authority muscle without fear of facing any consequences. It is indeed a sad and pittiful situation, but that's the price we pay for this convenience so I guess the best we can do is ignore the weasels. For the most part, as I said before, we have a great bunch of guys here and FTE is outstanding by comparrison to the others.
