Hey guys, i recently bought a 1995 F-150 XL 4x4 4.9L 6cyl for my girlfriend. The truck is in beautiful shape and has NO leaks of any kind. The odometer just rolled over 140Kmi and it runs like a top. But recently it began starting hard. When it sits for a day, then you try to start it, it shudders and fights to stay running. Then it will shut off and u have to start it again. You have to start it this way 3 or 4 times before it will stay running. But when it does finally start running, it runs fine and doesnt idle irratically or anything. so what am i missing? i put a new fuel filter on it and it is NOT the fuel pumps as they are both new. my mechanic tells me it could be a hundred different things and i do not want to dump a ton of money in this thing searching for the problem. Any help guys? Thanks!
Mine just started doing this as well, look forward to finding out what it is...I'm certain it is fuel related, since mine fills the front tank when running off the back tank.

If yours is the one in your sig, then it should still be covered under the recall. Check here to see:
If not, Go to the top sticky thread (Read First:1987 to 1996 Tech info ) and select the "on tank filling the other tank " link. This will give you info on fixing your selector valve so you don't waste the fuel or blow yourself up.
