ok so i changed my mind about the 38's and i want to keep the ttb front end so i decided to go with a dana 44 up front and dana 60 in back with 4.88 gears and a 6'' kit for 35's or 36's. my question is do i need to pick out a 150 or 250 lift kit because of the drivetrain changes? truck is a 91 f150 4x4 351w
If your keeping the TTB dana 44 up front, you need a F-150 lift kit. The rear is just blocks or different springs. Make sure your rearend swap is capatible with your trans and computer. The stock 8.8 has a speed sensor on it.
The problem I see is you are mixing the dana 44 {F-150} and the dana 60 {F-250} so you are looking at 5 lug in the front and 8 lug in the rear now there are some 8 lug dana44's from the 1979 and older trucks that might be 8 lug but all dana 60's that I have seen are 8 lug so you would have to have this info before you can pick a lift kit!!
first off i assume we are talkin about an F150,
i think id save my money and go with a d60 sas up front and the sterling out back,
the money you will invest in having d44 or d50 ttb is gonna be the same as a d60 sas
as far as a lift ya might need to fab your own(check my gallery), but in the 4x4 offroad forum there is a-lot of good folks to help ya with the build
if your keepin the ttb you can just get a 150 lift kit and go from there as long as your ok with the stock rear if you want to get up to a 10.25 sterling find a 250 at a junk yard and take the dana 50 ttb for the front andd the sterling rear, or run 5 lug front 8 lug rear. the sterling has a speed sensor in it for the e40d
