The maintenance guide calls for it every 25,000. Probably not a bad idea. I know lots of crud can come out of them which can effect power. I noticed you have the y pipe and the gibson exhaust. How do you like them and which y pipe do you have? Did you get the flutter noise? Looking to do the same if it will help economy and maintain a low noise level. Also. did you do both mods at the same time or one at a time.?
I Have A Y-pipe Which Was Custom Made From A Seller On Ebay, You Can Probably Still Find One, He Makes Them All The Time, However, I Don't Remember The Sellers Info. I Do Experience Some Exhaust Flutter At Low Range Rpm's, However, No Enough To Bother Me. I Chose Gibson Because It Delivers Good Performace And Is Not Loud In The Cabin. My Wife Would Not Tolerate A Loud Exhaust. I Had The Same Exhaust On My 2001 Ex And I Towed A 8000lb Travel Trailer Up And Down The Mountains Every Weekend Without Problems. It A Great Combo.
A Little On The Highway, Bout 14.5 To 15mpg Depending On Time Of Year (temp/winter And Summer Fuel). I Usually Drive About 71mph@2000rpm. I Have Seen A High Of 15.5mpg A Few Times, But Not Often While Driving On Extremely Flat Highway Without Wind. I Can Say I Gained About .5 To 1.0 Mpg With The Mods, Along With The K&n Fipk.
oh crap, 25000 for a fuel filter??? I have 107000 on my X and its the original filter. and exhaust, i have the stans headers y pipe and the new flowmaster super 44 muffler on my X.. I will say, that i love it. It is loud though and the interior noise and about 2600 rpms it rattles the inside. but its what i like.
