fuel injectors
i have 97 F-250hd with 5.8 thinking of changing my fuel injectors. my truck has 260000 on it. at time seems like it kind of bogs down just a tad while driving. is it pretty easy to do and how you do it. never changed these things.

At that milage it's very likely the injectors are no longer up to spec, so installing a remanufactured set or having your set bench cleaned is not a bad idea. However... unless you have eliminated all other possible causes of your drivability problem, new injectors may not cure it. The first thing to do is pull the codes to see if the computer has anything to tell you. That truck should be and OBD-1 system with the test connector out under the hood(trucks over 8500 GVWR after '96 with the old motors were still OBD-1, only the F150 in '96 was OBD-2, and in '97 they went to the modular motors). See this link for a simple method of pulling the codes without any special tools.. Ford Fuel Injection. If that comes up all clear, then verify your cat converter is not broken and blocking the exhaust, and that you have a clean air intake filter. Also verify your fuel pressure and the condition of the Thermactor air injection plumbing.
