Boost Guage Accuracy
I just got the truck out of the shop (engine light, code P0299). They said during the test drive there was no boost, but when I took it there it was showing boost on the guage. They found a cracked unison ring and replaced the turbo. Where does the guage take the reading? Is it possible to have a guage reading and get no boost to the motor?

Stock boost guage, is it possible to show boost on the stock guage and not have boost to the motor? I personally think they needed the work and found something they could replace and bill Ford for. It showed boost on the guage before and after the "fix". Nothing seems to have changed.

The PCM sends the instrument cluster a message over the communication network indicating the boost range of the turbocharger.
It's all electronic, so you may still have a problem...
