power

I know this is a tired subject and i've read alot on here but is there anything i can do to get more power out of my 89' 7.3 idi? I have a turbo (old BANKS setup) and my pump is set up. I've made a ram air setup. I've got blue ish smoke coming from my stacks at idle in the morning and after i've been getting on it and it smells like fuel so i don't think i'm starving for fuel. My brother suggested a cummins swap but i like my idi. Any suggestions or is the only thing left to do is stage one injectors?

If you are getting a fuel smelling smoke, what condition are the injectors in?

How much boost are you getting?

Yeah I am getting a fuel smell. I'm not shure what condition the injectors are in. I just replaced the return line with the O rings and caps with the brass washers on the bottom of the injectors. I don't know what to look for to tell if they're bad or not. The max boost i've seen on my gauge is 10 psi. I've read that that's the most i want.

When you pulled the injectors, do you remember if the tips were wet on some of them?

Soot covered is normal.
Wet tips usually indicate injectors that are weeping fuel when the engine is not running.

That means the injectors are not sealing when the pintle pops closed.
