PowerSlot & Hawk initial break-in question

<TABLE width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD vAlign=top>Hey Guys...

I took the day off today to install my Cryo PowerSlots and Hawk LTS pads...

Biggest problem was getting the rear rotors off... handy BFH worked just fine.

I want to make sure I did the initial break-in correctly... Here's what I did:

1. Drove around for 25 miles using the brakes every "once and a while"... very light pressure.

2. I did ten 30mph to 5mph moderate braking "almost stops"... between each almost stop I drove for 2-3 minutes to cool the brakes.

3. Then I did three 60mph to 5mph, heavy on the pedal, "almost stops"... between each almost stop I drove 3 minutes to cool the brakes.

4. Repeated #2 then #3. Drove 10 minutes home without using the brakes to really cool them well.

5. Parked the X and checked the rotors for heat (hardly any).

Well guys... this is how I interpreted the instruction from PowerSlot...

Did I do it right?

A few years ago I installed front ART cryo rotors w/Performance Friction pads on my old 99F250SD/SC... the initial break-in was much more agressive... I remember smoking the OEM rear brakes while doing the "almost stops"... Plus I remember smelling the brakes too... something that the directions said would happen. Why such a difference in the initial break-in procedure??

Well, another mod is done ... this weekend I'll hit the barn for another mod!!!
