i have a 75 hiboy with a 460 every time i start it makes a horriable noise any help would ne nice thanks

I'll take a stab at it......cat climbs up in the engine compartment and gets its tail in the fan belt when you turn it over. Happened to me ..get rid of the cat!

Bad starter ring gear or starter drive, starter clearance issues. Could also be coming loose.
