Well, in '67 I believe they started putting 390's in them. So I think it will physically fit, the first year for the 351W in the mustang was '69, or '70. You'd probably need different motor mounts. As for anything else, I have absolutely NO idea, except for I've seen this done to plenty of mustangs. A better recource for your future Mustang questions could be found off links from www.mustangweekly.com ??? I think that was the site? hehehe
Goodluck, wish I had your car... wanna trade? Is it a coupe, or a fastback? GTA? :-)

would a 351w fit into a 1967 mustang that had a 289 in it with no problems? someone told me that i would have to get a new oil pan and oil pump and new engine mounts. is this true and what all does need to be done?? will it fit with the radiator?
it will go in, just watch for side clearanc and hood clearance as the351 i taller and wider.
also make sure to get exhaust manifolds that angle properly, or use headers.
i did this swap on a 69 mustang. it is worth the effort.
The motor mounts are all the same for 221,260,289,302,351W and C. There are many different oil pans. So depending on the one from the 289(single hump, dual hump, front sump, rear sump etc.)you need to match that. 351 pans DO NOT INTERCHANGE with their smaller siblings. One other note that is important on late model 'stangs is hood clearance. Don't know about the earlier cars. The 351 is 1" taller than the 289/302 so make surr before you slam the hood after the swap!!!!
