While I have the box off....

Is there anything I should do while I have the box off of my truck? I was pondering maybe replacing some brake lines, the shocks and the u joints in the driveshaft. Is there anything I should do to the fuel pumps? Anything else anyone can think of?

Replace the fuel pump/pumps if there is more than or near 100k miles on truck.

Well, Im not sure how many miles are on the originals, and Im planning on throwing a 351 into it. I did kinda have that in mind but i wanted to see what others thought, if it would be worth it or not.

I was thinking about paint, but someone in our chapter made a pretty good point one time about that. Unless i was gonna do a fairly complete resto, and take teh whole body off and paint the whole frame, would it be worth it?

I painted just the top and sides of my frame with the box off... and did the front half with the cab and fenders on. my truck is lifted with a body&suspension so I did it mostly for appearance. I agree that it's kinda a half job but I dont have the space or time to do a complete body off resto and I'm amazed at how much of a difference it made to the appearance of my truck... it wasn't a fun job to do (specially the front half w/fenders and cab on)but me thinks it was well worth it...

GoodBoy,
Do you have any pictures that show off your truck frame paint job?
I have my box off to change both fuel pumps and shocks and was thinking about doing some painting.
Thanks Mark

Touchup the exhaust sytem with High temp black, to cover the rust and corrosion. Did that on mine about 4 months ago and still looks good.
