351W problems
HI all, I'm slapping a 78 351W in a 78 pick up. I was wondering what the advantages would be if I went to the serpentine belt. If I did that would serpentine pulleys and brackets off a 302 work?

Serpentine belts require less maintenance, easier to maintain, and clean up the front of the engine considerably. I don't think the brackets from a 302 will work because the deck height is higher on a 351W. For example, if memory serves, the AC/power steering bracket mounts to the head and the water pump, and due to the different deck height, I don't think your holes would line up.

The 302 serpentine will work on your 351W if you get an adapter from Ford Motorsports for this type of swap (cost around $80). You will also gain some hp on serpentine belt over the old v-belts.
