Need Help Overcoming Weak Hands
I thought this would be a good place to ask as everyone here uses their hands to work on things. My mom is having a lot of problems with arthritis in her hands she has a very weak grip and is having problems with simple tasks like putting the garden hose onto the spigot, opening screw on lids, Anyone know of any tools or aids that can be helpful thanks

You can probably get more answers in the General Discussion area, but...
artritis is a bum deal. You can read quite a bit about it at webmd.com
-- this site was recommended by our doctor.
Commom arthritis ( I forget what it's called, but it's NOT rheumatoid arthritis)seems to have a few options
Take pain killers -- my wife takes an equivalent of 6 Advils a day
- this is what the doc prescribes. It is almost the max amount of
Advil equivalent that they recommend
Get cortisone shots in the most painful joints
-- This worked quite well for me, but not my wife -- it varies
Various forms of surgery. The surgeries take a fair amount of recovery time, and don't seem to last more than 10 years
There are also a lot of gadgets that you can get to make ordinary jobs simpler. (powered can openers, soft handled tools, etc).
This is just what I know. Your doctor may know of other options.
good luck,
