LAST EDITED ON 23-Aug-01 AT 10:34 PM (EST)[p]Tackled the leaking rear window today. It is fairly simple to do, just takes some time. No special tools needed. When I unbolted the rear window and gently pried it free, it had a 2-4 inch gap just left of the middle glass (passenger side). It was obvious that it had never really glued to the window unit. To make matters worse it was readily apperent that the rear window had been removed and recaulked at least once prior to my attempt.
So I went to a body shop and got some good stuff to redo it. I made sure there was plenty of caulk in that area on both sides.
Total time by myself - 3 hours. No reason why it couldn't be done in less time if you can get the old caulk off faster.
