Question Getting Her Started.....we hope...

here is what I know... my 1969 Bronco has a 1971 V8 302 in it. It has had a lot of "do it yourself" done to it. Mostly the carb is a four barrel and the electrical system is no where near factory. So the other day I took the Battery out of my 98 Ranger and hooked it up to the Bronco to see how far I'd get. Well when we turned the key all I heard was a "click" I don't know where the problem lies exactly but last my wife knew it started up great.(6 years ago.) It has been sitting for a while. So this weekend I plan to change up all the fluids, oil.. coolant...gear oil...everything. I'm going to pull and replace the plugs and wires, give her a knew air filter, fuel filter.

What I need is a wire diagram for the 1969 Ford Bronco. any body got that?? And also a diagram of what the 302 and all its components are "supposed to look like" where everything goes..what to where and so forth and so on..any one know this stuff??? or have it on a disk or on paper??? Help!!

No start

Single click is usually the starter or starter solonoid.Have someone tap the starter while tring to start.I will try and find some links to the info you requested.

Check your battery connections, including grounds. After 6 years, a lot of corrosion can accumulate and they can also become loose. If you have a test light, check for power on both sides of the solenoid when the key is turned. Check for power at the starter itself. Here are the diagrams for a 69

GOOD NEWS!!! I have discovered that the problem is NOT the starter but infact it IS the ignition coil. We noticed that it is Lost/ Misplaced/ or Stolen! So AutoZone has them for around $20 some odd bucks. that is better than a $100+ starter and solenoid! I wish I could buy just one coil wire insted of having to buy a whole set of plug wires. That is a good electrical diagram but I'm trying to enlarge it so I can read it better.

Once I install the ignition coil, it should (hopefully) start right up. Well..at least it'll turn over.

any one else have any other ideas?

The coil shouldnt have anything to do with it "just turning over".Double check your electrical connections or better yet check and see if it will turn over by hand first.
