Hey guys, ive had a thread up here for a couple days with some people helping me with my 94 ford ranger. It had everything from fuel to spark to compression. But just wouldnt start, well today i purchased a new computer and tried it.....nothing changed and as a matter of fact i actually lost spark. Now i believe it is something in my ignition that is causing this problem. I have a felling it is my igniton contol module (icm). Does anyone know if these often go out or a good method of testing. I also and suspicous of my crankshaft sensor (cks). I know the system consist of Cks, Icm, coil packs, and computer. I read online a few good methods to test these items im just looking for someone who might be able to tell me which ones usually go out. Also if any of these would be a good reason for the truck not started because i definetely feel like they are.
But as of know i have no spark definetely in cylinder 1 and 2 probably the same in 3 and 4.
I have good compression and good oil pressure and good fuel pressure ( i think...my fuel gauge went out today)
Sorry for the long post just trying to give good info for good help. Thanks
Well today i changed the ignition module....and both coil packs....still not spark. I belive i have a pretty annoying problem here. The only left to change on the damn ignition is the crankshaft sensor and i dont see how this could be a problem.
I just dont know where to go with this...i guess im gonna have to do exactly what i dont want to do and bring it to a shop! Unless you guys have any other thoughts...
