Incredibly Rough Idle
My 2005 Ford F150 has 93,000 miles. My check engine light came on and reports "number 3 cylinder misfire detected." Found broken spark plugs in #3 & #8. Replaced the plugs. Still idles so rough I think the engine is falling apart. Give it some gas and it screams right along. Error code still reads "number 3 cylinder....." Plenty of compression, plenty of spark, plenty of fuel, valves are good....Any ideas?

is there a broken tooth on the crank sensor wheel thing, could be part of the #3 cylinder . also do a leak down test on # 3 a comp. gauge can tell u good but the leak down could hold 40 out of 80 psi, lisen in the exhaust exit bad xhaust valve, tb bad intake, oil filler bad rings, try hooking up a vacuum gauge drops on # 3 bad gasket.
