My 2000 Expy (EB, 5.4l, auto) is pre-wired for trailer towing. Trailer lights wiring harness appears beneath the rear bumper and terminates in a squarish connector. To that you add optional extensions depending on the type of connector your trailer has: a 4-plug straight connector or, a 7-pin round connector.
Running lights and left turn signal work just fine, but I get no right turn signal on the trailer. Followed the line back up to that squarish connector under the bumper, and there's no voltage on the right turn terminal of that connector. So I followed the cable up the frame to under the engine compartment, but then it disappears into a loom of wires and I can't seem to find where it re-emerges or connects to determine of it's the source that ha a problem or if it's a beak in the wire. All turn signals work fine on the truck.
Yep. Pulled F19 - blown. Replace it - rh turn signal pin on my connector has juice. Thanks a million you guys for saving the pain you went through to find this. Who'd a thunk there'd be a fuse specifically for a rh trailer turn signal? Wow these things are well designed. Thanks again.
I had the same problem too, after that I always carried spares when trailering. I actually had the same one go twice in two weeks and just as I decided it was time to look further it never happened again. Been three years since.
