so i did a complete 05-07 front swap on my 2000 excursion, i bought a grille from rockauto .com and bought a complete front bumper assembly including brackets.
2 issues
grille clips on bottom do not line up with my header panel
the front bumper sits forward, does not line up with the fender curve,
about 1 inch to far forward.
is there an issue, something else i need to buy, etc
I bought a new header panel (Reinforcement I think is the official name) when I installed my '07 front end so the grill popped right in.
There are shims on the frame that hold the pre-'05 bumper out a little further that you can remove. I have a front receiver that took the place of the shims so now I am tring to find a way to get the bumper to sit back to the stock '05 location.
That looks great!!! I really like the look of the chrome grille.
Is the bumper required for the swap?
I'd like to do the same swap on my 04. Where did you get your lights, and do you have a complete list of swap parts required?
I got a complete 2007 take off bumper that had all the brackets and trim off of Ebay. The pair of '07 headlights came off of Ebay, The grille was a 07 take-off from Ebay and the reinforcement I bought new because I didn't want the hassle of modifying the 00 panel to fit the newer headlights.
The guy who sold me the headlights was nice enough to include the pigtails for the headlamp harness.
I have the part number for the reinforcement at home, the rest of the parts I do not. I'll post what I have later.
