the igniter(I hope this is the name of the part) for my oven does not work any more. when it was working,i turned the *** on the oven, and could hear it clicking and the oven would light. now it doesn't click and i can smell gas after a few seconds. the igniters on the stove top burners still work,so i know it isn't a problem with the whole stove, just the oven. how hard is this to replace,or is it even possible to replace? I have opened up the bottom of the oven and looked in there,it is way in the back,no way to reach it from the front. is there an access panel on the back of the oven so I can get to it? the brand and model of the stove is caloric heritage series. Is it possible to get parts for this stove? I do not know how old the stove is,I have lived in the house for 8 years and it was here when i moved in. thanks for any help!!

It maybe the switch not the igniter..
I had a Magee stove that had this problem.. The Gas company want $120.00 to replace the box.. I fixed it for $3.00 by putting another switch in..
On my stove the switch was at the base of the **** and it loosened up over time.. Check to see if you have the same setup... You should have just 2 wires going to the switch.. You could try touching them together to see if the igniter works..
Most appliances you can still get parts for, but you may have to order them..
If all your burners including the oven ones use spark ignition, there is a very good chance that it is all the same circuit, and that the switch is bad. To test it, turn on the stove, then turn on one of the stovetop burners and keep it on "light" and see if the stove lights off. If it does, then the switch is bad.
