Engine Oil Dipstick?

Before heading to LMC? Try Green Auto, Bronco Graveyard, or National Parts Depot. Normally it's better to try a sponsor of this website first...LMC's ok---but most of our sponsors have either close pricing...or even in some cases lower prices.

I have called bronco graveyard and found out that the dipstick for a 351m/400 is threaded into the oil pan. However mine isn't threaded and goes into the block behind the alternator. So now i am not sure what engine i have. I found a picture of a 351C dipstick on ebay and it looked identical to mine. Can anyone guide me in the direction of determining what engine i have. I believe the truck is a late 77 or early 78 F150 custom 4x4 with a C6.
