I am trying to remove the honeycomb grill from my 2000 SC. I was told that it had some tabs that hold it in place, but could be worked out the front by pulling on it. I took a small screw driver and pried around it while pulling, but it looked as though it would break before it came loose. Should I keep prying or is there another or better way to get it out?
I had to grind off some plastic rivots on another kind of grille, and some of grille kits require cutting the shell up. For cut style billet, I like a roto-zip bit in a flex shaft drimel.
there are tabs but they require that the grille shell be removed. You'll have to bend the tabs on the grille until it lets loose from the shell. Those tabs will break pretty easy on the shell, so be cautious. I took some pliers and broke the tabs on the grille itself cuz I was just going to throw the grille away and didn't want to damage the shell.
most quality grilles use the tabs to mount the billet grille, the instructions you gave were for a stull (low quality) billet grille and the tabs in the instructions were cut off. I've got a precision billet grille and I had to use the tabs to mount the grille, and it looks alot better than the other ones that require cutting up the factory grille shell.

To each their own, and everyone has their own opinion, but tab removal does not necessarily correlate with inferior quality of the subsequent grille being installed.
However, the purpose of my post was not to refer "exact" instructions for installing a Stull grille but give instructions of the process of getting to the point of installing "any" grille; regardless if it requires the removal of the tabs or not.
This is why my post states "The removal instructions."
I would gather most folks would understand that. I found this as helpful instructions when I had to remove my stock grille to install my "non-Stull" grille; and there are not too many references like this online.
Deadscout,
Here is another online instruction post showing removal. >>>> Grillcraft Install
