Yes, a malfunctioning EGR will make the motor run like ***. But what's this about black smoke, you never mentioned this before. What fuel pressure are you getting on the fuel rail? Is there any gas or gas smell in the vacuum line attached to the fuel pressure regulator? There should not be.

well I changed the evp and no change in the performance of this truck. Im ready to stip all the bs smog crap and go to a carburetor. everyone says it runs better with efi but im starting to have my doubts I mean what a hunk a sh#t
