'08 Dash Rattling

The passenger side of my dash will rattle going over bumps or rough terrain. I also see that it's loose b/c I can move it up and down if I push upwards/downward where the airvent is. This does not occur on the driver side.

I have removed everything from the glove box and everything in the truck, took it for the spin and the noise still occurs so, it's nothing in my glove box/truck.

Does anyone know where I can locate some screws or w/e to tighten up the dash?

Thanks!

I wouldn't even try to fix it myself....it is covered under warranty....take it back and don't say a word about what you have done or they can pin the problem on you.

Huh? What i've done? I haven't done anything...

Warranty or not, I don't want to take it to the dealer. I don't feel like hearing "You will have to leave it here so we can find the problem."

Thanks anyways.

Sorry....I re-read your post.....I thought you removed the glove box.....saw my mistake.

If it is a problem with maybe wiring underneath that isn't secured right, vacuum lines, or just a mounting bolt for the dash that isn't tightened, some of those you have to go through alot to get to. That's why I suggested the dealer. On a 48K+ truck, I would be at their doorstep having a fit that this is happening on a new vehicle. But that is me. If you don't want to wait then I don't have any other suggestions for you. If you really feel strongly about it, just start taking the dash apart til you find the culprit. Try checking the top of the dash close to the windshield....may be some little plastic "covers" that hide mounting bolts....somewhere to start. Or underneath behind the kick panels....sometimes mounts are in that area.

Oh, ok. It's all good.

Yeah, I checked the top bolts out and they are secure. I also found some near the glove box and they are tight. There are some others but it requires removing some silver/gray trim where the air vent is and I'm not to confident trying to take it off. I don't know if they are held on by clips or bolts (seems to be held on pretty tight) and they seem like they could snap very easily. I looked behind the kick panels (there is a door to get to fuses down there) and I couldn't find any bolts.

I have torn my ranger apart but the superduty is a completely different animal; a lot more complex.

I'd be up at the dealer too but, at this point in time, I have 0 time to have them mess with it. It seems any day that I'm off they aren't working. Saturday's they only do oil changes and Sunday's they are closed...so much for going on my days off.

If I ever have to go to the dealer, I'll let them know about it. It's more annoying than anything else.

Thanks again.
